Ruby Stain NewsletterHeacock Patterns, New InformationArched Ovals: I have seen this optic effect in a butter dish top, Atlanta, Fostoria's:
Given what I have seen over the last years, I believe that we will see many unrecorded patterns only in tumblers because it was the form most easily obtained, souvenired, and sold. Indeed I have found two other tumblers identically souvenired. These tumblers are the cheaper barware grade. One was found in Franklin, Tennessee. I have yet to locate the triangular pattern but it appears that it was made by many glass manufacturers. Cambridge is a possible I did see another souvenired tumbler on display at this spring's Harrisburg show. It was not souvenired Waynesboro but had been found at a local auction. It was also souvenired in the same style of engraving. The best story that I can make up is that these souvenirs were so popular that they needed additional stock and a few barrels of Atlanta were stained and souvenired. Now prove me wrong. Does anyone have any Fostoria's Atlanta in ruby stained other than souvenired tumblers? My thanks to those purists out there who do not deign to collect souvenired pieces for leaving them for me. < Page 1 > | < Page 2 > | <Page 3 > | < Page 4 > | < Page 5 > |
